Jeryl didn’t fully pursue music as a career until she finished college. Soon after graduation her brother Jay started a cover band and needed a bass player so Jeryl learned all the tunes and that was her first "real" gig. Once Jay and Jeryl tired of playing cover songs, Jay started writing his own music and they formed a power trio called Superheated. Jeryl played bass for the touring band until she decided to buy her first acoustic guitar. In the comfort of her living room in Elmwood Park, NJ, with the tablature to the Counting Crows album "August and Everything After", Jeryl taught herself some of their songs to learn some basic chords on the guitar. Singing had also become a new adventure and she spent hours laying down tracks on a Tascam cassette 4 track, which is where the songs for her first CD "Everything and Nothing" were born.

Jeryl does not know how to read music and says, “I learned to sing so I could just get the songs down on my 4 track. It was a necessity to try and release all this creativity and the songs that I had rolling around in my head. When Jeryl is not busy writing, recording or playing music, she is still an avid athlete and is training for her third New Jersey Ride Against Aids on Sept. 24-26, 2010. A 250 mile cycling ride to raise awareness and money to “Help Make AIDS History,” The 2011 ride will be the 10 year anniversary. Jeryl is donating $1.00 of every download of her "Radio Friendly".
